The Woodlands at Barefoot Resort
The Woodlands is a gated townhome community at 2450 Marsh Glen Drive inside Barefoot Resort, North Myrtle Beach, built from 2003 to 2005 on the Davis Love III course. Units look out over the second hole, and the community has its own pool.
Plans run from two-bedroom, two-bath units of about 1,300 square feet up to four-bedroom, three-bath at 2,200, so this is one of the few Barefoot townhome communities with a genuine range of sizes. A transferable golf membership is available on some units.
Gated, on the Love Course
Views of the second hole of the Davis Love III course.
Own Pool
A Woodlands pool inside the gate, plus the Residents Club.
Two to Four Bedrooms
A wider range of plans than most Barefoot townhome communities.
The Woodlands Prices and Sales
Three are listed, from $315,000 to $389,900. Three sold over the last twelve months, from $325,000 to $556,200, averaging $415,400 or about $237 a square foot in 181 days. Over three years the count is eleven sales, from $325,000 to $556,200.
The spread is size. Two-bedroom units are the entry point in the low $300,000s; the four-bedroom, 2,200 square foot plans with a course view are what reach the mid $500,000s. A hundred and eighty-one days is long, and with few sales the average is easily skewed, so price to the specific plan.
The Woodlands HOA
The fee runs about $605 to $654 a month depending on plan. It covers grounds maintenance, building insurance, pest control, trash, water, sewer, internet and cable on most units, so it is close to an all-in figure rather than a bare association fee. Golf carts are allowed.
The Residents Club
The Residents Club is Barefoot Resort’s private amenity center for owners, with a pool, a fitness center and tennis courts, and a full-time activities director. Every Barefoot owner has access to it, and the association fee is what pays for it.
Golf, the Beach Cabana and the Marina
Barefoot Resort has four championship courses at the door: the Love, the Norman, the Fazio and the Dye. Owning here does not include golf. The Love, the Norman and the Fazio are public courses anyone can play, so an owner without a membership books a tee time and pays per round like any visitor. The Dye is semi-private and requires a Dye Club membership, which also covers the other three. A few listings carry a transferable golf membership, and that is worth real money.
Owners in the Barefoot Resort Residential Association have private access to an oceanfront beach cabana at 4611 South Ocean Boulevard, with a sundeck, restrooms, showers and gated parking, plus a seasonal shuttle. On the Intracoastal Waterway, the resort’s full-service marina sits beside a 15,000 square foot saltwater pool.
Why Buyers Choose The Woodlands
The Woodlands is the townhome community for someone who wants a course view behind a gate and a plan large enough to live in full-time. Looking down the second hole of the Love course from your porch is the point, and the four-bedroom plans are as big as many of the resort’s single-family homes.
Go in with patience on both sides. Units here take longer to sell than anywhere else at Barefoot, which is leverage for a buyer, and the fee is at the top of the townhome range, so confirm what yours includes. If a listing offers a transferable golf membership, get the terms in writing.
Barefoot Landing and North Myrtle Beach
Barefoot Landing sits across the Intracoastal Waterway from the resort: more than 100 shops and restaurants around the lake, with the House of Blues and the Alabama Theatre bringing live music and touring shows a few minutes from the front door.
The rest of North Myrtle Beach is minutes away, and Myrtle Beach is a short drive south.
