Riviera Village at Grande Dunes
Riviera Village is a gated, Mediterranean resort style neighborhood of 64 homesites inside Grande Dunes, the 2,200-acre master planned resort community in Myrtle Beach.
It sits over the bridge, on the west side of the Intracoastal Waterway, behind two gates — the manned Grande Dunes Gatehouse before the bridge, and a second gate before the neighborhoods themselves. There is more on how that access works on the Grande Dunes page.
Within those 64 homesites the settings differ: some are waterway, some have water views, and some sit on the golf course. Riviera Village lies to the right once you are over the bridge, so the golf course homesites here look out over the Members Course. That variety inside a single neighborhood is unusual, and it is the thing to sort out first when you start comparing addresses here.
One Gate, Three Different Buys
Riviera Village holds a wider spread than almost any neighborhood its size. A home here can be 3,500 square feet or it can be over 10,000 — nearly three times the house — and it can sit on the waterway, look out over water from a distance, or front the golf course. Those variables multiply.
The practical consequence is that a Riviera Village comp is only useful if it matches on both counts. A 4,000 square foot golf course home and a 9,000 square foot waterway home share an address and very little else. When someone quotes you an average price per square foot for the neighborhood, it is describing a house that does not exist.
Grande Dunes Amenities
The centerpiece of Grande Dunes is the Ocean Club, an oceanfront clubhouse for members with multiple pools, private cabanas, locker rooms, dining with bar service and full beach services.
The Members Club offers two 18-hole courses, both ranked among the top 50 in the world — the Resort Course, playable without a membership, and the Members Course, which requires one. Each course has its own clubhouse, with a pub, dining area and locker rooms. The Grande Dunes Marina is one of the best full-service boating facilities on the East coast, with boat slips and maintenance on site, and it is home to 357 Raw Coastal Bar — Myrtle Beach’s only restaurant on the Intracoastal Waterway. The Tennis Club is a 6,000 square foot facility with 10 Har-Tru courts, 8 of them lighted, and a full pro shop.
