Calais is a gated neighborhood of 29 homesites inside Grande Dunes, the 2,200-acre master planned resort community in Myrtle Beach.
It sits on the ocean side of the Intracoastal Waterway, between the waterway and the Ocean Club — just blocks to the beach. That location is the whole argument for Calais, and it is a different proposition from the neighborhoods over the bridge, which trade beach proximity for golf frontage and a second gate.

The Beach Without the Oceanfront Price
Buyers who want to walk to the ocean usually start by pricing oceanfront, and then start compromising. Calais is the other route: blocks from the beach, inside the gate, with the Ocean Club close enough to use rather than admire.

Each course has its own clubhouse, with a pub, dining area and locker rooms. The Grande Dunes Marina is one of the best full-service boating facilities on the East coast, with boat slips and maintenance on site, and it is home to 357 Raw Coastal Bar — Myrtle Beach’s only restaurant on the Intracoastal Waterway. The Tennis Club is a 6,000 square foot facility with 10 Har-Tru courts, 8 of them lighted, and a full pro shop.
