Ocean Forest Villas is a low-rise condo community at 5601 North Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach’s Cabana Section, on the site of the old Ocean Forest Hotel. The Cabana Section is a stretch of beach with no oceanfront high-rises, so the beach here is quieter and less crowded than most of Myrtle Beach.
The community has five three-story buildings, A through E, built in 1980. The buildings sit on the ocean side of Ocean Boulevard, but they run back from the beach rather than facing it. Most units look out over one of the two pools toward the ocean, and the top-floor units on the ocean end of each building get the best views. Every unit is a two-bedroom, two-bath condo of about 850 to 872 square feet.
Amenities include two outdoor pools, a kiddie pool, two hot tubs, grilling and picnic areas and a private beach access. Owners include full-time residents, second-home owners and vacation-rental owners.
